The Pinnacles from Australia

250km North of Perth in Nambung National Park stand the Pinnacles, consisting of thousands of eerie limestone pillars, up to 4m tall. The moonscape scenery is made by the pillars rising out of the stark desert landscape of yellow quartz sand. Over thousands of years rain hardened the limestone into cement but they were still covered by sand. Then the prevailing sea winds gradually blew away the sand to reveal the Pinnacles.
