My favourite place to paddle. Tourquoise clear water, quiet, fasinating landforms, fresh, deep dark water, climbers often up on the high vertical cliffs above.
Reading the MNR report from the ‘Natural Heritage Information Centre’, it describes this landform as:
” bright buff weathered surface colouration, thin to medium bedding and the vertical, conchoidal fracture pattern, which when broken down, forms a flaggy rubble on top of the main talus slope… very pale buff,grey-mottled, medium to fine crystalline, dense dolostone. ” “subject to direct action of storm waves in Georgian Bay, this has resulted in unusual landform of huge shoreline boulders marked by the immature development of caves, hollow, stacks and other shoreline erosional features.”
