For the photographer of this cool picture…
You know…I could be wrong, but this sure looks a scene from the Friuli Venezia Guilia Region in North Italy, right at the base of the Alps. Perhaps it’s near a small town called Spilimbergo or a larger town such as Udine/Gorizia/Trieste. I’ve lived in Friuli for 4 years (and the scenery there is just out of this world), and those mountains in your picture look at lot like the ones I looked at everyday…even those clouds and the way they touch the mountaintops, and the “pollution-free” blue sky that you get on those kind of days- the perfect weather for a casual bike ride and a stop for some Cappuccino (ah the Italian life…I miss it). The foreground also reminds me of the Italian Alps terrain in the lower areas (especially the abundance of rocks and their color), and if my mind serves me right, the low vegetation pictured as well is the kind that smells like Oregano in the fall (even though it isn’t as far as I know). I’ve lived in the Rocky Mountain region as well and this doesn’t look like Rocky Mountain scenery- definitely Europe I’d say. Awesome picture and I look foward to seeing more great work…
